The SPI LAB Series continues with Concept, an innovative release designed to redefine how core and coverstock combinations are engineered for challenging lane conditions. Featuring the ARC Coverstock, Concept delivers an exceptionally high coefficient of friction while operating at the upper limits of USBC-regulated oil absorption time. This allows the coverstock to serve as both the primary source of traction and energy, while the Radius Weight Block functions as a stabilizing element, maintaining control and consistency through the lane.
By pairing an extremely strong coverstock with a very low RG and differential core, Concept avoids early lock-up or excessive forward roll. Despite the low differential, the advanced cover technology minimizes oil carrydown—commonly associated with urethane—ensuring continuous motion through the pins. In 14–16 lb weights, Concept is constructed as a two-piece design with a thick resin shell. This thicker shell increases the coefficient of restitution (COR), resulting in improved energy transfer and more dynamic pin action.
